HAPPY EASTER

This year we wanted to have a small egg hunt outside, but as we have previously explained, the weather was not favorable for such an experience. Following church, the kids and I went down for naps. The Easter Bunny arrived, and the kids loved it.
Sasha had already been "hunting" during nursery, so she caught on fairly quickly. Braden enjoyed sitting and watching, and swiping the eggs that Sasha would leave on the ground by him.
Here are some belated pictures of the exciting event.
EGGS, EGGS, EGGS!!!
What is inside?
(Mom & Dad spent a lot of time figuring this one out.)
What do you put in an Easter egg if you don't eat candy?
(Animal crackers & raisins, she was ecstatic)
PlayDoh? she returned it to it's hiding spot.
she had a great time playing with it later
Where could they all be?
Occasionally you get it right!
She loves playing in her couch
laying on her couch
and just playing on her couch,
most of the day every day for a week now.

Hanging out with Daddy
I'm going to get it...
I've got Sasha's chalk, he, he, he
What now?
Why am I on my tummy again?
and for the big moment...
***I can push myself onto my hands and knees***
PS: Braden did get an Easter Basket this year, I just didn't get any pictures of him with it. Sorry. These are some of what we did get, I hope that you enjoyed.
~
I have to thank my sweet husband for letting me sleep, and being such a great Easter Bunny this year. Dinner was great as well, I was lucky enough to have him prepard dinner as well (all except the seasoning on the steak).
Thank you so much for the gifts Grandma & Grandpa, Braden is getting great use out of his new clothes, and Sasha loves wearing her new shoes; Ann, Stan & Tattie, "Big Sister in Training" is adorable, Sasha looks great in it, and we love the froggy onsie, Braden will be fitting in it any day now. I love the towels, and hangers as well. We love you and miss you all. Thank you for thinking of us this Easter. We wish that we could have been with everyone. Happy Easter.

OATMEAL!!!

We were going to start our sweet Braden on his solids on his 6 month birthday, seeing as he was sick and vomiting we had to hold off for a bit, so here are some pictures of the belated first food. We are a bit too leery to start with avocado after last time with Sasha, so it was oatmeal for Braden, and he loved it! These are all of the pictures, the camera died. You missed the really messey adorable end result. Just use your imagination.

Braden's 6 Month checkup...

here are the stats...

he is weighing in at a "whopping" 16 lbs - definately a lightweight for now - 24th percentile

he is looking into the high jump or running at 27.5 in he is in the 85th percentile

he's our smart little boy (if head circumference counts for anything) 17.5 in - 71st percentile

Sushi Anyone?

We Are Still Alive, but Just Barley

We are so excited for spring, and really want to take the plastic off of our windows, get some fresh air in our apartment (blow away all of the germs that have been hanging around). Every time we think of pulling it down this is what happens. And no this is not the same day, same storm... it has been doing this about every 2-3 days for a couple of weeks.

For those of you who think that we haven't been keeping up on our blogging this is a little taste of why it has been a bit difficult.

We had all been looking forward to Daddy's Spring Break and were so very, very excited to get out of the house and spend some time together. Sasha had the flu the week before spring break, Braden had a cold (that was begining to sound suspiciously like another bout of bronchitis-lucky for all of us we were wrong).

Brit decided that if he worked the first half of the week we would all be healthy enough to get out and enjoy some time together the second half of the week...

As Sasha got over her bout with the flu Braden kept getting worse, then Mommy decided that she would join in the fun, yippee - what was I thinking? and get a different bout of the flu than Sasha had had. So as I thought I was getting better Sasha got it again, and she got it bad the second time around. Thank you Brit for letting me get out to Women's Conference for a few hours. I found Brit with the carpet cleaner in one hand and a towel in the other when I got home, Sasha had been throwing up all morning, it continued for 4-5days (or more, I can't remember now, it is all blurring together). That was the end of Spring Break for Brit, back to classes for him, and home with some sick kids for me.

On Monday we took Sasha in to the doctor, but there really wasn't anything that they could do. She wasn't dehydrated (to the point of needing an IV), that is what the nurse was worried about when we had called.

The next morning we woke up to Braden's eye covered in goop, and he was rather cranky. He had his 6 month "well baby" check-up, Sasha was still throwing up so she got to go in as well, again not much that they could do for her, just let them know if nothing changed. I have to thank them, the sweet nurse called the next day to see how things were going, and had me call if things weren't any better by the next day.

So Braden's diagnosis... pink eye? where did that come from? a whopper of an ear infection, no wonder he has been having a hard time sleeping, the Dr thought that his cough sounded like bronchitis for sure... his lungs were... totally clear!!! yea one bit of good news, we'll take what we can get. So home we went with antibiotics, and some ear numbing drops. Needles to say he started throwing up after we got home, both kids had fevers... Can you tell how much fun we had. Thankfully the ear drops were helping him sleep a little better, and in turn Brit and I got a bit more sleep.

We had a light at the end of the tunnel though. We were feeling oh so lucky with Brit going to a Catholic Law School we had Good Friday and Easter Monday... a 4 day weekend, that way we could make up for an oh so exciting previous week. I came down with a little bit of a cold, it was to be expected. The kids still had residual runny noses from the weeks prior. Really it wasn't much of a cold, so we'll be fine rite? Friday Sasha was still trying to recover from her second bout with the flu, no throwing up for a couple of days, we thought that we could try out her music class (make-up from the missed Monday) she made it about 15 min and was too tired to do much other than have mom or DAD (can you guess who she wanted) hold her. Saturday we did get some errands in, but nothing that we had been hoping for.

Sunday I still didn't have my voice completely, but really wanted to sing in the choir, we had been working really hard on those songs, and I was so excited to sing. Some of our great friends watched Sasha and Braden through Sacrament so both Brit and I could sing. Everything was going great until the last 10 min, I wasn't feeling well, so as soon as the choir finished our number, I took off down the hall. I was attempting to get to the bathroom/drinking fountain, next thing I know I'm laying on the ground and I have several people around me. I couldn't figure it out, I ate breakfast, I'd been drinking, I can't figure out why I passed out. One of the counselors in our bishopric is a doctor, my friend that saw me drop ran into sacrament and grabbed him, they had me lay down until my color started coming back and then took me to a couch. I was shaking for awhile, so people got me water, Jelly Bellies (plenty of those around since it was Easter) and someone found some Swiss cheese. When we came home Brit let me lay down after we got the kids down for their naps while he took care of getting the egg hunt together (pictures in another post). That was a fluke rite tomorrow we can head out for some fun, no instead I've been "flat" on the couch since. Today I'm finally feeling a bit better, I sound horrible, and don't have a voice, but I'll take that any day.
Poor Brit he rarely gets sick, he usually makes it through unscathed, this time caught something Sunday night/Monday morning. His throat it sooo sore, but we are thankful that it is only red, that there are no white spots (we are keeping a close eye on him though. Thanks for taking such great care of us babe!
I am so lucky to have a great husband who has been up many late nights with Sasha so I can get a couple of extra winks between Braden's wakings.

I'm finally trying some jell-o

maybe this will stay down

here is what I have been looking like quite frequently

I was sooooo hungry, and soooo tired,

I just can't keep anything down to regain my energy

here I am again, sleeping most of the day,

absolutely anywhere, I don't feel very good

This wasn't intended as a "gripe fest", or "poor-picked-on-us" post, (it is part of life as a parent), just thought that you might understand why if we explained. Thank you Mom and Dad for taking care of us when we had times like this. Especially thank you for taking such great care of us when you weren't doing well yourself. I have a whole new appreciation of what it can take.
HAPPY EASTER!!!
To those that we were planning on getting together with over spring break -
sorry we didn't call, we didn't want to get you sick.

6 MONTHS!!!

Sorry this is a little late, I had planned to get this posted for Braden's "6 month birthday," unfortunatly with all of the "bugs" going around our house lately I haven't been able to get it done until today.

We wanted to share some of our favorite pictures of our sweet Braden over the past six months. Time goes so fast, it seems like he should only be a couple of months old
