Thoughts on plastic vs organic

What are your thoughts on the perspective of the organic movement? I have read several things about infant/toddler mattresses and SIDS, you can read about them here, and here. You can enter a giveaway for an organic sheet here.

"I looked out the window..."

"... and what did I see?"
If you look closley you will see...

This sweet "big" duck (according to Sasha) who had found some shelter in our entry hiding halfway behind our pot on the porch. The kids had a great time watching "her" through Braden's window since it had the perfect view (and the duck was safe from them). They were able to go out on the porch as well and stand right next to her when we were leaving. I unfortunately scared the poor thing when I told Sasha to get back a little farther away, it scuttered further into the corner. She was gone when we got home a few hours later. Sasha and Braden were so sad that "she" was gone. It was decided that she went to find her "husband". I would love to find her sitting there again. It is wonderful to have nature so close to your door.

Picture Tag

It's a "PICTURE TAG" and this is how it goes:
~Go to your pictures and go to the 5th folder.
~Then open up the 5th picture and post it.
~Then tag 5 people when you are done.
Have fun!
I tag whoever wants to play!!!

Spring Time!!!

Spring time weather is finally here! Yesterday we had our first day above 70 degrees since early October. So the kids got to go outside and ride their little trike. They were taking turns on the trike, Sasha riding it and Braden sitting on it because his legs are too short to reach the pedals. Then we turn around to see that Braden had figured out how to hang on the back while Sasha drove. He is so daring - loves to climb on everything fearlessly! Reminds me of someone else I know!

Pay It Forward!

THE FAB FIVE: OK! So this is how this works...

The first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me, just for you.

Of course there are some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! :)
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done some time within the next year :)
4. You have no clue what it will be... Could be lint from my dryer :D) Who knows? Not you, that's for sure. ;-)
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
6. I will send it anywhere! It doesn't matter where you live!

The catch? The catch is that you must repost this on your own blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!!

Our kids are really pretty good at helping pick their things up with some encouragement. I've been wondering about how to help them (and myself for that matter) have a better understanding of doing some chores without being told to do them. I was reading this post from A Daily Scoop today, she has such great insight into many things in life. This post was just what had been on my mind recently.

I realize that the kids are probably too young to really have them understand too many things. I am learning that they are learning from many things that we do, from what they see, hear, from friends, us and others. I am working at trying to be better at teaching by example (a good one, at least more often than not) rather than by words. So here we go onto a new adventure in teaching. We will be making adjustments to her suggestions to fit our families needs.

new collage

I made another collage of the kids - this time the pictures are of the recent couple of months, so "2009 thus far." Hope you enjoy our cute and cuddly kids!

Dressed up and matching for church - Sasha loves to match Braden. Braden got his first haircut and boy is he stylin'! You can't see it, but Sasha and Braden are sitting next to each other, with their yellow cups, in the redflyer wagon they got for christmas. Sasha and Braden got to fly a refueling tanker - Pilot Sasha and Co-pilot Braden! Braden found some 'too-big' slippers that he loved to try to walk around in (he does it all the time with both Mommy's and Daddy's shoes). Both kids sitting at the window watching for the fire engines to pass by or just watching the cars... just like front row seats! We just love these kids! and we are happy that they are finally healthy... for today at least.

Happy Valentines

Grandma and  Grandpa,
We had to say "THANK YOU!!!"  We love playing with the balloons!!!

Here are a few shots that I got of Braden playing with the balloons, and the balloons themselves.  The kids are still playing with them.  (the laytex ones made it a week and a half, the other two are still floating, though nearing need of disposal)  They have been so much fun, they love playing with them, especially the "Happy Valentine's Day" aka Sasha's has definatly been the favorite.  I thought the frog on the square one would be just what Braden would love, apparently I should have opted for a second large round one.
Thank you for the flowers as well, I always love seeing them, they really brighten my day.
(Sorry this is so late, I'm working on being better at posting)

Sorry I'm a little behind, if you haven't noticed from the past 10ish posts, now I'm playing "catchup".
Here are the beautiful flowers that Brit gave me for my birthday. I really am a lucky girl, I have wonderful family, friends, kids, and husband. Thank you for remembering, and loving me!
